Fantastic + Fabulous = Fantabulous! (AND THEY ARE!)
Dear Parents, Guardians and, of course, My Fantabulous Fours,
I am thrilled to be teaching more Fantabulous Fours for the 2009-2010 school year. Below you will find details about many aspects of our Grade Four program. A detailed handout will be distributed the first week in September. As always, please contact me at the school if you have any questions or concerns. Mrs. Pogue
Homework is usually limited to the completion of the day's assignments, 5 - 10 journal lines and 15 minutes of reading. If your child is "signed in" for the day, then the only homework would be the journal and reading. Test preparation or project work would require extra time some weeks.
September Updates
Special September Dates
News Teams September 13 - September 17 - September 20 - September 24 - September 27 - October 1 - October 4 - October 8 - October 12 - October 15 - October 18 - October 22 - This marks the end of the 1st News Team cycle. Students will have 5 turns over the course of the year. News Team duties cover the entire school week. All News Team members are required to bring one story to class for presentation each day. News Team members make a group decision as far as assigning News, Sports, Weather, and Announcer duties. Students have a small notebook in which to record information, attach articles and store pictures. News, Sports and Weather duties are self-explanatory with Announcers having a choice of stories to present for the week. Students should spend some time recording the information using their own words and also practise reading their presentations. Helpful sites are:

Music and Gym Schedule
This year, our Gym and Music schedule is once again organized by Days 1 through 5 rather than Monday through Friday. This means that students will need to bring the necessary Gym and Music materials various days each week rather than the same weekday all year. Agenda entries would be useful reminders!
Extra Practice! Addition Facts - Many websites! Multiplication Magic - Check it out! It is never too early to work on times tables! Visit this amazing site for strategies and fun activities to develop rapid recall of basic multiplication facts!
