Fantastic + Fabulous = Fantabulous!

(AND THEY ARE!)

Dear Parents, Guardians and, of course, My Fantabulous Fours,

I am thrilled to be teaching more Fantabulous Fours for the 2009-2010 school year.  Below you will find details about many aspects of our Grade Four program.  A detailed handout will be distributed the first week in September.  As always, please contact me at the school if you have any questions or concerns.

Homework is usually limited to the completion of the day's assignments, 5 - 10 journal lines and 15 minutes of reading.  If your child is "signed in" for the day, then the only homework would be the journal and reading.  Test preparation or project work would require extra time some weeks.

This marks the end of the 1st News Team cycle.

Students will have 5 turns over the course of the year.  News Team duties cover the entire school week.  All News Team members are required to bring one story to class for presentation each day.  News Team members make a group decision as far as assigning News, Sports, Weather, and Announcer duties.  Students have a small notebook in which to record information, attach articles and store pictures.  News, Sports and Weather duties are self-explanatory with Announcers having a choice of stories to present for the week.  Students should spend some time recording the information using their own words and also practise reading their presentations.
